Day 01 Yangon Arrival
Meet on arrival at YANGON International Airport and
transfer to hotel. Today’s Sightseeing tour includes the old
colonial – style city center with the gilded SULE PAGODA,
dating back over 2,000 years, BOGYOKE (SCOTTS) MARKET with
hundreds of stores (closed on Mondays) and gems
shops. Balance of the day at leisure to pursue individual
interests. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 02 Yangon – Heho – Inlay (by flight)
After breakfast fly to Heho and transfer
Inlay Lake famous
for its unique Leg-rowers and scenic beauty. After lunch,
tour highlights include Phaung – daw – oo Pagoda, wonderful
floating gardens, floating markets, natives’ method of
fishing, traditional weaving industry, village life on the
lake.
Dinner at on the Lake and overnight at Hotel in the Lake
Day 03 Inlay sightseeing (by boat)
Excursion by boat to the western shore of
Inlay Lake to
visit the INN – DEIN PAGODA complex, found after following a
stair path lined up with magnificent columns. After lunch,
come back to the lake and if the time permits, watch
birds roost in the bushes.
Transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight in the lake.
Day 04 Inlay – Shwe Nyaung – Kalaw (by train / coach)
Early morning transfer to Nyaung Shwe by boat and drive
to Shwe Nyaung by car. And then Shwe Nyaung to kalaw by
train about over one hour. Lunch at Kalaw and sightseeing
around Kalaw area. You can see ways of life of Pa-o, Palaung,
Danu, hill tribes.
Dinner at good local restaurant and overnight in Kalaw.
Day 5 Kalaw – Heho – Mandalay (by flight)
In the morning, excursion to Kalaw market and Theindaung
monastery, a hill provide a good view over Kalaw and its
attractive surrounding.
After Lunch, transfer to Heho Airport and fly to Mandalay.
Evening arrived at Manadalay and dinner at local restaurant.
Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 6 Mandalay – Mingun – Mandalay
After Breakfast, boat trip to Mingun, 11km upriver from
Mandalay on the opposite bank of Ayeyarwaddy River. You can
start sightseeing the huge unfinished Mingun Pagoda with
marble footprint of Buddha, Mingun Bell which weights 90
tons, and Myatheindan Pagoda with seven concentric terraces
at the base.
In the afternoon come back to Mandalay and Lunch at good
local restaurant. After Lunch, start sightseeing to Shwe Nan
Daw Monastery, Kuthodaw Pagoda and view over the city from
Mandalay Hill, when the sun goes down. Dinner at good local
restaurant and overnight in Mandalay
Day 7 Mandalay – Amarapura – Sagaing – Mandalay
After breakfast, proceed to Sagaing driving over Inwa (Ava)
Bridge across the Ayeyarwaddy river. Tour sightseeing
includes, Ywatang village, Khaungmudaw, an enormous solid
dome shaped pagoda and picturesque Sagaing Hill, a retreat
for Buddhist devotees with numerous pagodas and monasteries.
Afterwards proceed to 1.2km long U Bein Wooden Bridge to get
unforgettable sunset. Dinner at good local restaurant and
overnight in Mandalay.
Day 8 Mandalay – Monywa (by land)
Early morning visit to the Maha Muni Temple, Mandalay
Palace, Gold leaf Industry and Handicrafts shops, those sell
wood carvings, Myanmar Marionettes and richly embroidered
tapestries. After lunch drive to Monywa by car about (135km,
3 hours drive from Mandalay). On the way visit Mohnyin Thanbodday Pagoda where more than 500,000 Buddha images are
seated.
Dinner at Monywa Hotel and overnight in Monywa.
Day 9 Monywa – Pokokku – Bagan (by land / boat)
After breakfast, 4 hours drive to Pokokku. On arrival, excursion to Min Kyaung Monastery, as well as a
magnificent carved wooden with scenes of the Vassantara
Jataka. After lunch, across the Ayeyarwaddy river by
boat. (2½ hours) to Bagan. Evening, arrived at Bagan.
Dinner at good local restaurant and overnight in Bagan.
Day 10 Bagan sightseeing
Transfer to airport domestic flight to BAGAN. On arrival,
transfer to hotel and proceed for sightseeing starting with
the busy local market and continuing with visits to a
diverse selection of the most important pagodas and temples,
such as SHWEZIGON PAGODA, built by King Anawrahta in the
early 11th century, GU BYAUK GYI, a temple with exquisite
murals of Jataka scenes, KHAY MIN GA Temple, noted for its
spectacular panoramic view of the area’s many monuments and
ANANDA TEMPLE, with four huge standing Buddha images and
numerous seated figures in niches around the galleried
interior.
After lunch, visit to a lacquer craftsmen’s workshop in
nearby MYINKABA village.
Continue sightseeing to MANUHA TEMPLE, built in Mon style in
1059, NANBAYA TEMPLE, a unique sandstone monument, said to
have been the palace of King Manuha and MYINGABA GU BYAUK
GYI TEMPLE, noted for ancient paintings under the protection
of UNESCO. Proceed to BUPYAY PAGODA or MINGALA ZEDI STUPA to
watch sunset over the Ayeyarwaddy River.
Overnight in Bagan.
Day 11 Bagan – Popa (by land)
After breakfast, visit to TAYOKEPYAY TEMPLE IN Min Nan
Thu Village, PHAYA THONE ZU and NANDAMANYA TEMPLE noted for
exquisite murals of 13th century and KYAT KAN CAVE monastery
a famous meditation center in Bagan. Visit to farming
villages around Bagan.
Evening drive to Popa.
Dinner at Popa Hotel and overnight in Popa.
Day 12 Popa – Bagan – Yangon (by land / flight)
After breakfast, visit to Mt. Popa, an extinct volcano
with its shrine dedicated to animist spirits, known as “Nats”.
For the energetic, to climb the 777 steps to the shrine at
the top of the volcanic plug. Evening drive back to Bagan
Airport and flight back to Yangon.
Dinner at good local restaurant and overnight in Yangon.
Day 13 Yangon Departure
Transfer to Yangon International Airport for departure. |
