Day 01 Yangon Arrival
Meet on arrival at Yangon International Airport
If arriving by morning or mid-day flight, transfer to hotel.
Proceed for a sightseeing tour that includes the old
colonial – style city centre with the gilded SULE PAGODA,
dating back over 2,000 years, BOGYOKE (SCOTTS) MARKET
(closed on Monday) with hundreds of stores and gems
shops. The tour continues to CHAUK HTAT GYI, a huge reclining
Buddha image followed by a photo stop at KARAWEIK HALL,
a royal floating barge. An extended visit to SHWEDAGON
PAGODA, one of the world’s most spectacular religious
Pagoda rises 98 metres above its base and is
covered with over 30 tons of pure gold. If arriving on late
afternoon flight, transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight in
Yangon.
Day 02 Yangon – Bagan (by flight)
Transfer - Flight from Yangon to Bagan
Morning start sightseeing to Nyaung Oo Market, Shwezigon
Pagoda, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas, Kyansittha Umin,
a tunnel with an interesting feature of painting, Wet Kyi –
in Gubyaukkyi Temple with fine mural paintings of Jataka
scenes, Htilominlo Temple, noted for its plaster carvings,
and Shwegugyi Temple, transitional in style between the
early and the late Bagan period. Afternoon sightseeing
include
Ananda Temple, famous for its unique architecture,
Dhamayangyi Temple, Bagan’s most massive temple with finest
brick work and Museum, an architectural masterpiece
resembling a Greek Cross. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 03 Bagan – Mandalay (by land)
In the morning, drive to Mandalay for 6 hours, the last
capital of Myanmar, about 295km northeast of Bagan. On the
way visit to Mt. Popa, an extinct volcano, and generally
known as the abode of legendary Nats or sprit gods for
which the annual festival is held during the Myanmar month
Nayon (May / June). There are monasteries, pagodas and shrines in
different style, can see on the top of the mountain. Late afternoon
arrival at Mandalay.
Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 04 Mandalay sightseeing
Morning visit to venerable Mahamuni Pagoda, Myanmar
traditional handicraft workshops, shwenandaw (Golden Palace)
Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carving, Kuthodaw
Pagoda, known as the World’s Biggest Book for its 729 stone
slabs of Buddhist scriptures and enjoy the sunset at
Mandalay Hill, advantage point for a panoramic view of the
city.
Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 05 Mandalay – Mingun – Amarapura – Mandalay
After breakfast, excursion to Mingun, 12 km from Mandalay
and a very pleasant boat trip with plenty to see along the
Ayeyarwaddy river. Tour highlights: Mingunbell, the world’s
largest 90 tons ringing bell, Myattheintan pagoda
and Pahtodawgyi, an enormous unfinished temple. After
sightseeing, back to Mandalay and then drive to Amarapura,
on the way visit Maha Gandayone Monastery of Amarapura, U
Pein Teak wood bridge and Traditional Silk wearing. Sunset at
U Pein bridge.
Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 06 Mandalay – Kalaw (by land)
Drive (313 km - 9 hours) to Kalaw. On the way, enjoy the
great scenic beauty of the countryside. Arrive Kalaw
sightseeing around area. You can see ways of life of Pao,
Padaung & Danu hill tribe.
Overnight in Kalaw.
Day 07 Kalaw – Pindaya – Inlay Lake (by land)
After breakfast transfer to Pindaya. Visit to Pindaya
stalactite and stalagmite caves in which countless Buddha
images of different types and time exist. Then transfer to
Inlay Lake (92 km - 2 hours drive from Pindaya) for
sightseeing, famous for its unique leg-rowers and scenic
beauty.
Overnight in Inlay.
Day 08 Inlay Lake – Heho – Yangon (by land / flight)
Morning visit to wonderful floating gardens, colourful
market, where one can see several hill tribes selling and
buying fresh vegetables and regional products. After lunch,
visit to Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda and explore the ways of life of
Intha. Then transfer to Heho airport for flight back to
Yangon. On arrival, transfer to hotel.
Overnight in Yangon.
Day 09 Yangon Departure
Travelers arriving mid-day on Day 1 will transfer to the
airport for departure. For those arriving in the afternoon,
a morning of sightseeing will include city highlights as
shown on Day 1 of the itinerary, than transfer to airport
for departure. |
