Extension tour to Golden Rock

Day 01 - Yangon - Golden Rock
Full day excursion out of Yangon to Golden rock Via
through BAGO (84 km, 1½ hours). Visit to the Kyaik Ka Wine
Monestary, the largest monestary in town where thousands of
monk gather morning food there. After lunch, continue to KIN
PUN 'base camp' (110 km - 3½ hours) and onward to KYAIKTIYO
the Golden Rock, a huge boulder completely covered by gold
leaves and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. From
KIN PUN, a steep and rough 11 km road leads to the upper
staging point. A Journey made in open trucks, which are very
crowded. From the 'upper area', travelers can walk the final
stage, approx. 4 km, up steep paths which ascend some 500m
to the GOLDEN ROCK or can take the car.
As an easier alternative to walking, visitors can be carried
in dean chairs by four porters, at an extra cost of approx.
US$ 10.00 p.p or take the open truck to the final stage. On arrival, watch the beauty of sunset or
dawn at this important pilgrimage site. Dinner and overnight
at Golden Rock Hotel.
Day 02 - Golden Rock - Bago - Yangon (B, L, D)
Leave for Bago, sightseeing includes the SHWEMAWDAW PAGODA,
furthermore the 55m long reclining Buddha called
SHWETHALYAUNG image that is among the country's most revered
and visit KYAIK PUN PAGODA, famous for its four giant
Buddha. Return to Yangon through rural landscape of paddy
fields and small villages. Dinner and
overnight at Hotel in Yangon.
Day 03 - Transfer to Airport for Departure Flight
After breakfast, transfer to Yangon international airport
for departure.
Note: The region around Kyaiktyo is still
undeveloped for most aspects of tourism. Travel will
endeavor to obtain the best available accommodation,
transport and facilities for guests, but would ask for their
understanding for any practical aspects which do not come up
to expectations and for delays or changes in itinerary.
Departure to road conditions, it is not recommended to travel
to this region during the monsoon season (June - September). |
